Business Development Specialist - DBL Law & Excel Title Services
DBL Law and Excel Title Services are seeking a highly organized, proactive and relationship-minded Business Development Specialist to support the organizations’ business development, client engagement and growth initiatives.
Working closely with the Marketing Department, attorneys, leadership and the Excel Title Services team, the Business Development Coordinator will help turn business development strategy into action. The position will play a central role in managing the organizations’ CRM, coordinating client and prospect events, supporting attorney and practice group business development, tracking opportunities and follow-up, and helping strengthen relationships with clients, prospects and referral sources.
The ideal candidate enjoys managing details, working with people and keeping multiple initiatives moving forward. This individual should be comfortable working with attorneys and business leaders, managing technology and data, coordinating events from beginning to end, and following through to make sure opportunities do not get lost after a meeting, event or introduction.
Key Responsibilities
CRM & Business Development Operations
• Serve as a primary day-to-day administrator and champion of HubSpot CRM for DBL Law and Excel Title Services.
• Maintain accurate and complete client, prospect, referral source and organization records.
• Monitor CRM data quality and work with attorneys and team members to improve adoption and data completeness.
• Create and maintain contact lists, target lists, pipelines, reports and dashboards.
• Track business development activities, opportunities, referrals, meetings and follow-up.
• Assist attorneys and leadership with entering and managing contacts and business development activity.
• Support CRM training, best practices and ongoing user adoption.
• Identify opportunities to improve CRM processes, workflows and reporting.
• Produce regular reports regarding business development activity, pipeline, engagement and results.
Events, Sponsorships & Client Engagement
• Coordinate DBL Law and Excel Title Services client events, seminars, webinars, receptions, sponsorships and community programs.
• Manage event logistics including venues, catering, invitations, registration, attendee lists, nametags, materials, audiovisual needs and vendor coordination.
• Build and manage invitation lists through the CRM.
• Track RSVPs, attendance and engagement.
• Coordinate sponsorship deliverables including registrations, advertisements, signage, guest lists and deadlines.
• Provide on-site support for events as needed.
• Lead post-event follow-up, including updating CRM records, identifying business development opportunities and helping attorneys and team members execute appropriate follow-up.
• Track event and sponsorship expenses and assist in evaluating participation and return on investment.
Attorney & Practice Group Business Development
• Support attorneys and practice groups in executing individual and group business development plans.
• Help identify target companies, contacts, industries and referral sources.
• Conduct basic client, prospect, industry and competitive research.
• Assist with preparing for client and prospect meetings, including background information, relationship intelligence and meeting materials.
• Help coordinate follow-up after meetings, introductions and networking activities.
• Track business development commitments and next steps to help maintain momentum and accountability.
• Support cross-selling initiatives by helping identify connections between client needs and DBL Law practices and attorneys.
Pitches, Proposals & Business Development Materials
• Assist with the preparation and coordination of proposals, RFP responses, pitch materials and client presentations.
• Maintain current attorney biographies, practice descriptions, representative experience and other business development content.
• Help organize and maintain reusable proposal and credential materials.
• Coordinate information and deadlines involving multiple attorneys and departments.
• Proofread and review materials for accuracy, consistency and brand standards.
Excel Title Services Business Development
• Support business development initiatives designed to grow Excel Title Services and strengthen relationships with real estate professionals and referral partners.
• Maintain CRM records and prospect pipelines for Realtors, lenders, builders, developers, attorneys and other referral sources.
• Research and identify prospective referral relationships and business opportunities.
• Assist with outreach campaigns, meetings, presentations, events and industry networking activities.
• Coordinate follow-up with prospective and existing referral partners.
• Track referral activity and help identify trends, opportunities and areas for increased engagement.
• Work closely with Excel Title leadership and team members to support an excellent experience from initial relationship development through closing.
Marketing & Department Support
• Collaborate with the Marketing team on campaigns, client communications and other initiatives that support business development objectives.
• Help maintain the firmwide marketing and business development calendar.
• Assist with attorney onboarding as it relates to biographies, contacts, memberships, business development plans and CRM information.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and community organizations as needed.
• Assist with budgets, invoices, expense tracking and administrative processes related to business development activities.
• Support special projects and other marketing and business development initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, liberal arts or a related field preferred.
• Two to four years of experience in business development, marketing, client relations, event management or a related role.
• Experience in a law firm, professional services organization, financial services, real estate or title services environment is preferred.
• Experience working with a CRM required; HubSpot experience strongly preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to work effectively with attorneys, executives, clients, referral sources and vendors.
• Self-starter who takes ownership of assignments and follows projects through completion.
• Comfortable learning new technology and using data to track activity and results.
• Ability to exercise professionalism, discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information.
• Availability for occasional early-morning or evening events and local travel as needed.
