POSITION

DBL Law is seeking a Paralegal Manager (Probate/Estate Planning). The Paralegal Manager is responsible for managing both paralegal teams and the systems and technologies they use to create and track legal documents. This position is based in our Covington, KY office.

JOB DUTIES

  • Oversee a team of paralegals and assist with assigning projects, organizing and prioritizing tasks, caseload, and workflow, and advise on conflict resolution, as needed.
  • Assist in personnel decisions, such as hiring, termination, salary, performance reviews, and promotions as they relate to reporting paralegals.
  • Assign projects and prioritize workload of paralegal staff, including case assignment and workflow.
  • Confirm Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits are being tracked and recommend additional classes, if needed
  • Handle own caseload, to include drafting legal documents such as pleadings, memoranda, contracts, discovery requests/answers, general Paralegal duties as required.
  • Act as a liaison between attorneys and paralegals, ensuring projects are completed accurately and timely and resolve conflicts, as needed.
  • Support for team members in legal research, including use of relevant technologies.
  • Coordination with lawyers, especially on urgent or complex tasks
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in legal administration, management, finance, or similar major.
  • At least 5 years' experience working as a Paralegal.
  • Paralegal certificate from a nationally accredited program preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working as a Paralegal in estate planning and probate.
  • Member of local paralegal association and/or National Federation of Paralegal Association preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated communication and organization skills.
